(000305) Rhinathiol Children 2% x 125ml
Rhinathiol Children is used to make phelgm more fluid, thus making it easier to cough up. It is intended for use in patients with congestion of lung airways, particularly during acute bronchitis.
Direction for Use
Children 2-5 years: 1 teaspoonful twice daily. Children >5 years: 1 teaspoonful 3 times daily
Each 100ml syrup contains carbocisteine 2 g, sucrose 70 g, methylparahydroxybenzoate 0.15 g and excipients (including colouring agent, cochineal red A) to make 100 mL.
History of hypersensitivity to one of the components (particularly to parabens). Gastroduodenal ulceration. Infants <2 years, as there is a risk of worsening the airway congestion.
Syrup contains sucrose. In diabetic patients, take into account 6 g sucrose/tablespoon, while in diabetic children, take into account 3.5 g sucrose/teaspoon. Fructose intolerance. Use in pregnancy: Caution is recommended in the use of Rhinathiol during pregnancy.
